Sold Out Live Transforms in 2008
This 2008,we started a new approach to the set up of Sold Out Live. Starting with a new emphasis on small groups and personal spiritual growth, a code of conduct, and of course, gimmicks!
The first thing different about the new SOLD OUT LIVE is that it really focuses now on college and young pros, and we extended our catered congregation to even family men and women! Our time slot is now at 1:30pm. And we dropped the “too youth” image and started with a more “serious” approach (though still more casual compared to the adult services), and is moving away from the “rock” culture scene, and focusing on personal and theologically rich songs… I hope more of them come up with a “rock” taste, coz if they do, we will go back to the “rock” culture scene!
Next is that we started putting up coffee at the back where members can go and have a cup ANYTIME during the service. Seating is also changed forming a semi circle around the front part where the pastor and the worship team is actually VERY close to the audience. Its like the people form a semi circle around the speaker.
The new atmosphere caters to a laid back, relaxing theme because we designed the lighting to be more of a coffee shop look, and added more illumination compared to the too dark -concert image of SOLD OUT LIVE last year. Though the lighting still encourages people to focus in God’s personal touch to them and still holds a relative distance to a Sunday congregational “I want to see everyone singing!” motif of lighting. We also put up encouraging visuals at the back for people to look at and stand around while fellowshipping, sort of an art gallery or something.
Anyway, with all those said, what we want to accomplish this year is to know more of God’s Word and experiencing His work in our lives, and really to be a blessing to others around us.
