Preparing For the Inevitable
Preparing for accidents is a wise thing to do. People turn to auto insurance companies, life insurance and medical insurance firms to prepare themselves and their loved ones for emergency cases like car accidents, sudden sicknesses or even death. These companies serve their clients and even go to different lengths to inform potential customers of the value of having insurance. And people who understand how wise having a n insurance is are willing to stretch their budget and pay for one knowing that paying premiums for a car insurance, for example, outweighs not having an insurance policy when emergency strikes.
But why is it that many people don’t prepare for the inevitable? Death is something that is inevitable; in fact in cemeteries coffins are of different shapes and the ages of people in the epitaphs range from babies to very old people. Yet, many people don’t prepare for what comes after death.
In 1 John 5:13, John writes, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.†In this passage, it says that people who have put their faith in Christ can know that they have eternal life – people can actually know that they can go to heaven.
So, we throw the question to you – are you sure that when the inevitable comes, you’ll be spending eternity in heaven? Feel free to drop a message if you want to know more about how to have that assurance.
