One day, during low tide there was a boy on a beach full of starfish. This boy was so concerned about the number of starfish and about the possibility that many of them would not survive if they stayed too long on the beach. So he started picking up some starfish one by one and threw them back to the sea. A man saw what the boy was doing and went to the boy. He asked, “What are you doing? Are you trying to save all those starfish? I think you’re just wasting your time and energy. Do you think you’d be able to save all of those starfish?†The boy answered, “Yes, that’s what I’m trying to do. It may seem that what I’m doing won’t matter much.†And with the starfish on one hand, ready to be thrown back to the sea, the boy said, “but it matters to this one! I just saved one of them!â€, and threw the starfish to the sea.
Doing small things like using eco-friendly products, conserving energy, witnessing to someone or saying a prayer for people around us do make a difference.
Galatians 6:10 “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.â€
August 1, 2008 is the scheduled date for the program at Manggahan High School. God has opened this school up for Sold Out Live’s ministry and right now, the opportunities available there are just awesome. We hope that Sold Out Live will just be a blessing to that school and that its youth will be able to meet real needs there. Keep on, Sold Out Live!

While we were still young we used to play with toy cars, marbles, cards, balls and many others that we show off to other kids. As we grew older the toys shift to real cars, Callaway irons, tech gadgets and motorcycles. I guess this shows man’s need to find significance and self worth. But, the question is, should we base our self worth on material things? Jesus says, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?†What is your self worth based on?
Nowadays many ministries incorporate multimedia into their services. They utilize video, dynamic backgrounds for Power Point presentations of messages and songs. This is especially helpful for the modern church, tasked with reaching the unchurched in its generation. In these types of ministries, getting volunteers who are familiar with the equipment used, like video projectors, notebooks or laptops, CAT6 cable and firewire cables, is very important. We hope that those gifted in this area would contribute their skills and talents to help improve methods of reaching the next generation.
“Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.†Matthew 6:11-12
Confession needs to be a regular thing in our Christian lives. In fact, Jesus implied in the prayer that He taught us that confession needs to be daily. The portion of the prayer above includes asking God the Father for our daily needs and then immediately follows asking forgiveness which implies that this should be a daily act. This is very similar to our bodily functions where we also need a daily colon cleanse. Spiritually, we also need daily cleansing of our sins, a good practice to keep our hearts always attuned to the Lord. When was your last confession to God?

SBC’s partnership with Santolan High School for the past years have given birth to another partnership with a high school in Pasig City. Manggahan High School has recently opened its doors to Sold Out High, the high school ministry of Sold Out Live. They have been tapped to help organize the programs for the high school’s foundation day and have recently conducted auditions for theater and band music. Those who pass the auditions will be trained to do the presentations on their foundation day. SBC Santolan is the current base of operations for the outreach of these campuses.
