Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

The book of Jeremiah says that the heart is deceitful above all things that’s why it is important to put a guard against things, even just ideas, that can corrupt it. It would be like using a Schlage dead bolt on the door of our hearts, or better yet a shield as described in Ephesians. But, as many say, the best defense is offense.

God’s word is the most effective weapon against any wrong feelings or ideas that get into our hearts. It’s truth filters the lies that try to get in and corrupt the morals we have. Immerse yourself in God’s word and start memorizing scriptures, it is the best defense you have against a deceitful heart.
