The Bible’s guarantee for the generous is that God will give back to them, “good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running overâ€. When we give, it’s not like we are betting or putting money in futures trading – there is a guarantee and the same measure will be used as the measure we used when we gave. Try it and see what happens.
As opposed to the religious culture in the Philippines, we don’t need to light candles on Votive candle holders to make our prayers more effective and powerful. It is not a matter of the externals, like crawling to the altar, praying face down on the floor or other acts but it is a matter of what is in our hearts. This is not to say that it is wrong to do such acts, but just to qualify the acts by first making sure that our hearts are right with God – having the right motive, asking according to God’s will and coming before Him blameless.

One of the good things the current generation has is the number of available head hunter sites online. This has really made applying for a job easy than back in the days when one has to buy all the periodicals within reach and browse through each and every single available job. Whether it’s a local job or even San Francisco jobs, technology has made it easy for job hunters to look for the job that is right for them. Even in looking for a job, it is important to ask the Lord for wisdom and peace.

The periodicals are here again. Most of the young people in our center are now stressed out with the ever growing demands of school requirements from papers to the tons of tasks they would have to submit before deadline. Normally, young people in their age range won’t really need any of those energy pills, but there are just days that they could really use one. Recharge inside and out is really the key. Otherwise burnout is inevitable. Just press on and do what is required. Study well. This too shall come to pass. God bless you all as you take those mind boggling exams.
Servanthood is the essence of true leadership. As a leader it may mean being willing to get your hands dirty, sweeping the floor, moving boxes or arranging chairs.
Just take a look at Jesus’ examples. He was born in a manger, He grew up as carpenter’s son, He wasn’t from a very influential family. He associated with lowly people and helped them. When He gained influence and the people looked to Him to be a powerful and mighty deliverer form the hands of the Romans, He entered Jerusalem on a donkey and showed humility. His greatest show of humility was dying on a cross for us.
“Our attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross!†Philippians 2:5-8
