I have encountered people who work with technology to enhance spiritual lives. I have seen pastors who preach on the pulpit using a pocket PC or even a Sony Vaio for their notes. There are young professionals who report to their jobs and do their devotions before they start their work and they do them using their office PC with a bible software installed. There are ministries who use large LCD screens to project notes for the congregation or song lyrics.
There are conservatives who oppose the use of these gadgets in spiritual matters and say that it is mixing the secular with the spiritual. I don’t blame them for how they view this matter. We should be careful in using these things to not depend on videos and other multimedia instead of the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word to bring conviction or lead others to worship God. But let us be open to taking what is beneficial for the ministry and the purpose which is God’s great commission. Because if technology can help reach more people for Christ then it is an asset rather than a liability or a threat to the ministry.

Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
There are people who add value to others around them, there are those who subtract something from life, people who divide but there are those who multiply something in life. Have you ever thought about who you are from these type of people? In your home, church , school or work? Are you a person who divides or subtracts or a person who adds value to others or better yet, multiplies?

1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” NKJV
Being a pastor now and having been a youth pastor before, hearing confessions of church volunteers or discovering some sins being tolerated by individuals are common. Many times, these sins so big that necessary church discipline needs to be applied and some counseling provided to restore the fallen. During counseling sessions, especially when the sin is so grave, I usually tell those I counsel that people don’t fall into sin in an instant. It usually starts in small compromises, small tolerated sins that provide a foothold for the devil who is waiting for a Christian to make a small mistake and for a moment when he can take advantage. That’s why we are reminded to always be vigilant because we are on target as lay leaders or full-time ministers. May I suggest that you surround your church leaders and ministry volunteers with prayers. If you have a moment, why not do it now, even for just a few seconds or minutes.
