Integrity and Justice

Posted on November 25th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Uncategorized

Injustice is something that God hates so much. That’s why in matters like protecting and upholding what’s right, God delights in people who do so. Those who are victims of motorcycle and hit-and-run accidents, false witnesses and the like need motorcycle accident attorneys, and lawyers who have high integrity. It is hard to find people in this career who have solid integrity but when one is found God smiles upon them.

Work It Out

James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

As the Bible says, we need to be applying the word of God into our lives and not just be listeners only. This is like exercising spiritually. When we do God’s word and apply it through daily ministry opportunities around us and at church, each one’s spirit won’t need a fat burner but will gain strength and build power as it continues in exercising spiritually. Let us not take for granted ministry opportunities because they help make us spiritually healthy.

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”

It is very disappointing and frustrating when you do the right thing and end up being the one viewed as wrong by those around you. Especially when the on who did wrong gets away with it.

This verse urges us to wait on the Lord and not fret. God will balance the scales someday – just wait on Him.

Porn Filter Plus Detection Equals Safety

Posted on November 20th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Uncategorized

A secret about porn filters is that a lot of times they don’t work. The reason why households use a porn filter is to block access to pornographic web sites. According to statistics, there are at least a million adult websites online today. The best porn filter available today can block a maximum of 91% of those websites, leaving over 90,000 adult sites unblocked. This statistic doesn’t take into account the fact that the ability to bypass or disable a porn filter has become very easy.

So, as a parent, what should you do? Deploy a filter to prevent accidental exposure–but use a pornography-detection tool–like surfrecon from surfrecon.com — as well. Filters offer protection and SurfRecon offers detection. The effective formula is Protection + Detection equals the solution for Internet safety.

Passage of the Day: 11/16/08

Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

This is one of the verses that I have helped my three-year old son memorize. I like this verse because of the promise it holds. The promise, of course, comes with a premise – that is to delight one’s self in God.

A lot of times we delight in other things. Usually, we delight on what we want and ask god or try to bend god’s will into what we want. True delight means that when we find out that God doesn’t want what we desire, then we must be willing to submit to Him and obey. And that’s when the promise can be claimed.

A German Golf Website

Posted on November 16th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Uncategorized

There are many sports that young people can involve in to pass time or that they can make a hobby out of. The most common here in our country is basketball. There are other sports though. They are soccer, taekwondo, billiards, darts, chess, volleyball, table tennis, rowing, mountain climbing, judo, baseball and many others. But there are sports that only those who can afford can play and one of those is golf.

Playing this sport entails shopping for golf clubs and other necessary gadgets and equipment in the right Golf shop. One who wants to play this sport also needs a golf course to play on, golf club fitting, and, of course, most importantly, the skill to play it. One has to learn to drive the golf ball properly and this is practiced on a driving range. There also has to be a club membership somewhere. Spending money on these can be viewed as a luxury by many but for those who are financially able to maintain this sport as part of their lifestyle, this is just something that is normal for them. It is not a big deal for them because they are capable of handling the cost of having this kind of sport and lifestyle.

For those who are wanting to play in Europe, there is a German golf portal, which is in the German language, that can be of service to you. If you are looking for information on where to purchase golf clubs and need to know which are the best online golf shops, then this is the website for you – Golfkurs.com. This site also provides information about the different locations, features of golf courses to play on and also golf club fitting information. Visit this German Golf web site now so you can learn more about playing golf in Europe.

Passage of the Day: 11/15/08

Ephesians 4:11-13 “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…”

The primary role of church leaders is to equip those under their influence. Church members are the workers, the doers of the works of service as mentioned in the passage above. This is likened to the roles of a coach and his players. The coach can initially sets an example and lead his team by teaching them and showing them how the game is played but eventually expects the players to perform and do the winning for the whole team.

As a leader, how are you encouraging those you are influencing? Are you being a model and are you teaching them? Are you providing training for them to grow in their skills? As a church member, are you participating in winning for your team? Or are you just watching on the sidelines after all the training you’ve received? Just some thoughts to ponder.
