On Spiritual Work Outs

Posted on December 11th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Uncategorized

For our bodies, we can take diet pills to watch our weight and stay fit through exercise. Spiritually, there is no spiritual diet pill and no short cut to becoming spiritually fit. It takes effort and hard work. But the results of the pains and suffering of spiritual work outs are enduring. Don’t look for short cuts to spiritual growth. Work it out!

Passage of the Day: 12/11/08

Proverbs 21:5 “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”

As the year is about to close and another year about to begin, it is a perfect time to evaluate past experiences and plan for new goals to set.  Planning is a Biblical and a wise action to undertake.  Those who plan will reap something out of their efforts.  Not planning may also lead to something positive but planning is a better way.

How about considering making plans for the coming year.  Write out goals and make plans to reach those goals.  Choose the better way.

A Thanksgiving Post for My Wife

Posted on December 11th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Daily Living, Uncategorized

I am glad for the day when my son stopped using disposable diapers. It was my wife who sensed that he was ready to be weaned from them. I m glad that she was so observant and was very hands on as a mom. I am blessed to have her as a partner in raising up our son. I know that as we work together in shaping our son to become who God want him to be, she will do a great job as she mothers him. Thanks, Jennie, belated happy 7th anniversary!

Ephesians 5:21 “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

Humility is one of the characteristics a Christian needs to have. Even a person in position needs to be exhibiting this character trait and we are commanded to submit to each other. Being in submission doesn’t mean that we will give up our rights and not fight against wrong. It just means to trust in God knowing that He is in control and humbly appealing to those who are wrong instead of having a demanding attitude. Let us try to practice this attitude of submission.

A Lack of Integrity Can Bring Us Down

The Titanic was boasted to be the first ship to use a compartmentalized hull. The idea was when a hole is made, the compartment could be sealed to keep the ship from sinking. But we know what happened, they used the design and still the vessel sinks down to the bottom of the sea.

That similar thing can happen to us when we compartmentalize our lives. We try to separate each part of our life and live without integrity. This can bring us to our downfall. That is why it is real important to live a life of integrity. What sin have you been hiding lately? Be careful because this can cause your downfall.

Trust Our Provider

Posted on December 8th, 2008 by Pastor Jeff in Uncategorized

In the midst of a global financial crisis where the future of one’s employment is unsure, we can rest in our Heavenly Father’s provision. He is known as Jehovah Jireh, which means God the Provider. He will never let His children’s needs left unprovided. Remember, He has provided for our greatest need – the Savior who saved us from sin. If He was able to provide that, how much more will He be able to provide our financial needs. Trust Him and see his provision come.
