Passage of the Day: 01/23/09
2 Timothy 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”
Many false teachings and interpretations of God’s word arise because many don not handle it properly. A lot of the beliefs of the cults (beliefs that believe in the Bible but believe on something else other than what it teaches) based on particular Bible verses are usually based on passages that are taken out of context. Meaning, the passages are read the way they want it.
When we read the Bible, we must try to figure out, through proper study methods, what the writer originally wanted to say in what he wrote to his audience. Doing this can eliminate many of the confusion in beliefs in essential beliefs.
