Passage of the Day

Titus 3:5a “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.”

God’s saving grace is very simple, but because of the pride that we, mankind, have it can sometimes be easily overlooked or not understood. There are some who contend that a person who puts his faith in Christ ‘needs’ to continue obeying and following God’s commandments to remain saved but very clearly in this passage above that it is not by our works we are saved. I do agree partially that a person is expected to obey God after putting his faith in Christ, but the obedience is motivated by a gratitude for the eternal life that God has given, not motivated by the ‘need’ to remain or be saved. Good works come as a result of a true faith in Christ.

Add Into Your Exercise

Are you looking for other ways to burn fat? Why don’t you try Leptorexin? This is one of the popular fat burners that also detoxifies, reduces acne, builds muscles and suppresses a person’s appetite. This is one way to help those who are looking to burn fat fast, adding this into the exercise they do daily. But, of course, exercise is still the priority.

Passage of the Day: 01/09/09

Exodus 20:9-10 “Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.”

It’s weekend again and time for the family, for personal rest and spiritual refreshment is once again available. These things are essential if we want to live healthy, balanced lives. A profound statement that a pastor once said was God designed for us to,”Work, work, work, work, work, work, rest!” This basic truth was first given as part of the ten commandments given to Moses. Part of this command is to work. But it is important to note that we are also commanded to take time and rest.

Psalm 118:5-6 “In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and He answered by setting me free. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

As this year begins, we need to realize that there are many things around us that are beyond our control. We are not God. God is the one in control. He is sovereign. And that is one thing we can count on as we plan our year. We can take confidence in Him, especially if our plans are according to His will. We need not worry about the future but instead we need to pray and seek God. Cry out to Him – depend on Him. Start the year right by committing yourself to the Lord and making Him first in every area of your life.
