Summer is in the air again and you do know what comes with summer, don’t you? Well, of course, vacation, but for youth ministries like Sold Out Live summer camp is what most young people look forward to.
Planning for the upcoming summer youth camp for 2009 is on going as organizers have secured Mt. Peniel at Capas, Tarlac as this year’s summer camp venue. As we are targeting 600-800 campers per week for two weeks of camp, some of the things we always prepare for the group games. When we plan this for the camp we are talking about 100-150 people per group and four groups playing at the same time at different locations. So the usual icebreaker games really don’t apply but some game principles can be taken and adjusted according to what is required.
Another thing being planned is the program and music. We are glad that we have people who are committed to researching and squeezing out ideas from anywhere with regards to drama and stage presentations. Promotions are also given top priority as posters, the promotional video and the theme is finalized for the great push of promotions for this year’s camp.
We ask every young person to please begin praying for the youth camp as early as now. We know how we are very capable of organizing this event but we want to put our dependence on God as we know that everything is a spiritual battle. Pray that lives will be changed and many would be claim thethe promise of eternal life that God has promised to all of us.

Humility
As a leadership train, humility is a heart attitude that reflects a keen understanding of your limitations as a leader to accomplish something on your own. It gives credit to forces other than your own brilliance or effort when a victory is won or an obstacle overcome. A leader with a humble heart looks out the window to find and applaud the true causes for success and in the mirror to find and accept responsibility for failure.

Nowadays, having a compact flash memory in hand is normal. I even experienced receiving one as a gift when I spoke for a high school leadership convention in Makati City. I guess that is a good gift suggestion for speakers as it does not cost too much but it is very useful especially for those who speak in public regularly. But it is a good idea to ask if they have one or not first.

Planning
Looking ahead into the future is an integral characteristic of effective leadership. Spontaneity is valuable and sometimes necessary, but the consequences would be disastrous if most of our life’s direction were left to serendipity and happenstance. Although, as a leader you may not possess a crystal ball to foretell what the future will bring, you can and should be planning what it may bring.
Planning and evaluating performance with long-term goals and objectives in mind requires discipline but this discipline inevitably leads to greater freedom.
Leadership suggests movement. “Where are we heading?” is a question that every responsible leader must answer in order to have the courage to summon others to follow. Take some time to discover the direction in which you and those you lead are headed.

Are you looking to start your own web site or blog? There are two things you’ll need then, a domain name and webhosting. For the domain name, you can get one from different domain name registrars at different prices, but for a dot com, a dot net or a dot org, you can get them for a little less than $10 and that is good for a year.
The other thing you’ll need is web hosting. I would suggest that you visit webhostingchoice.com so you can browse and compare different services in the internet that offer web hosting. Their prices are different depending on the services the company offers. Usually, you’ll just need to compare the available disk space, the available data transfer or bandwidth and the uptime guarantee. Choosing the right host depends on what type of site you want to start. But for starters, you can select the cheapest web hosting then upgrade later.

Decision Making
Decision Making is one of leadership’s core competencies. Decisions reveal values and intelligence. They require obedience to and dependence upon God. Making decisions affects just about everything else leaders do. Where can a leader go to get help in this essential component of life and leadership?
Decision makers must understand complicated matters, but they also need God’s perspective in deciding how to act. All wisdom comes from God. Using His wisdom to make good decisions is something God wants to help us learn to do. We make decisions everyday, and the patterns established by the small decisions shape the course of the larger ones. It’s crucial to make wise decisions, but no decision is wise if it is made independently of God.
Meditating on Scripture is made easier when we memorize verses. These verses become embedded in the system memory of our minds and become available any time as long as we know how to access the. We should make it a habit to memorize Bible verses regularly. Select passages that are meaningful to you. In this way, you have a better motivation for doing scripture memorization.
