Thoughts About the Holy Week 2009

Posted on April 7th, 2009 by Pastor Jeff in Prayer

In the Old Testament, the Israelites regularly sacrificed a lamb or an animal without blemish or defect to receive cleansing for their sins. The shedding of the blood of the animal serves as payment for the sins.

When Jesus came, He was called “the Lamb of God” by John the Baptist. It was because He was to be the sacrificial lamb to pay for mankind’s sin. And He did. His blood was shed for our sins. He lived without sin, like a lamb without blemish or defect, and became the only acceptable sacrifice for man’s sin.

May these be in our thoughts as we reflect during this Holy Week. Take time to thank God for the sacrificial lamb.

God’s Not Done Yet

Christian growth does not happen at an instant. Many of us probably hope that there is magic pill, like a diet pill, that is available in drugstores that will instantly change us into better people. The fact is, we don’t develop godly character traits in just a snap of a finger. Our character is developed through the fires of testing and time. Trials test our humility, faithfulness, discipline, temper and many other things that show our true character.

So don’t be in a hurry and don’t feel disappointed about yourself when you feel that growth is slow. God isn’t finished with you yet, and He is continuously working on you.

How Do You Plan to Spend Your Summer?

Posted on April 5th, 2009 by Pastor Jeff in Camp Update, Ministry

It’s summer again and many are finding ways of beating the heat or being productive as classes are out. Some think about going to the beach and staying in a cozy hotel like those Pigeon Forge hotels, while some want to take a long drive and camp out.

Why not try spending a week at our summer youth camp. It is from April 21 to 24, 2009 at Mt. Peniel camp site in Capas, Tarlac. The theme is “Call of Duty: World at War” (Ephesians 6:1-20). Camp fee is only P400 and you can be assured of fun, lots of new friends and a meaningful way to spend your summer.
