When building steel buildings, or other structures, engineers and building designers take into account the kind of foundation for the structure. A foundation has to be strong, dependable and able to carry the load that the building, its occupants and other possible forces that may arise.
In life, we also need a strong foundation. The Bible is that foundation. It never changes and its principles are applicable in the past, in the present and in the future. If you have not tried the Bible, why not take a shot at it? You’ve got nothing to lose.

Daniel, one of my favorite Bible characters, was a man who had committed. He chose in advance what he would do in different situations and was consistent. When asked to eat of food from King Nebuchadnezzar’s table which was served to the Babylonian’s idols, he refused and stayed committed. Eventually, he influenced his peers and the authority above him.
When he was called upon the first time to interpret the king’s dream, he humbled himself and gave God the credit. The second time, he didn’t back down on interpreting the king’s dream even if it meant that he migh lose his life because of his confrontation of the puffed up king. Because of this, he was able to influence the king.
When he and his peers were commanded to bow before another god, they refused and were willing to suffer even death to obey God. This led to Daniel influencing the king and the whole nation.
Let us stay committed – choose in advance what you would in different situations, using God’s word as your guide and who knows how God can can use you to influence those around you for Him.

This Saturday, Sold Out Live will be providing support and assistance to JIVE Youth Ministry in Makati as they conduct a Pre-enrollment seminar at Pitogo High School. The seminar was first tried at Gen. Pio del Pilar National High School and is now being experimented at Pitogo High School after their participation at the recent summer youth camp.
The seminar will be dealing about Attitude and Authority/ Morality for students and Avoiding Financial Collapse and Building Stronger Families for parents. The event will be held at Pitogo High School from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm this Saturday, May 16, 2009.
