James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this have: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
Our God is a God who cares so much for those who are weak an helpless that He feels so strongly about helping the orphans and widows especially during the New Testament church. During that time, they didn’t have social security disability or retirement benefits yet for the old and the widows. So, through James the reminder to give the orphans and widows importance was given. Let us take time to look after those who are in this kind of situation.

1 Samuel 16: 7 “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
We normally deal with people based on what we see. We judge them based on their appearance. But the character of a person is not shown by his appearance. We need to learn to filter the actions of people to know their character and it is shown through testing.
Sometimes God will use tests in our lives to show us our true character – the flaws and the things we need to improve or develop. He sees our hearts and since we can’t see our heart or other people’s hearts, God shows us through different tests we encounter in our lives.
