Doane Rest in Baguio City: Ministers’ Retreat Venue
In the third week of September, about a few weeks ago, our church family from Sumulong Baptist Church had a staff retreat and planning in Baguio City at Doane Rest. The facilities of the country style homes are nice and are reasonably priced for church ministers.
Doane Rest, which is located along Magsaysay in Baguio City, has 1-bedroom-apartment, 2-bedroom-cottage and 3-bedroom-cottage accommodations that range from $30 to $72 per day of stay. Each accommodation has a living room, a kitchen and a toilet and bathroom. The big areas also have a fire place, but the fire wood is not included in the rental for the accommodation.
Inside their compound is a mini soccer field with goals for kids to play on, a play ground, a basketball court (half court) and a tree house. They also have an indoor sports facility where you can play table tennis and darts or just hang around to read a book. Doane rest does not have outdoor fireplaces and I am not sure if they have a place for bonfire.
But during the staff retreat, we were able to gather around the fireplace in one of the bigger units and made smores. The whole place is very peaceful and green.
