What the Recent Calamities Have Taught Me
Posted on January 23rd, 2010 by Pastor Jeff in Stewardship
The recent calamities that struck like the earthquakes in Haiti, flooding in the eastern part of Metro Manila and landslides in northern Luzon due to typhoons has made me think about how quick life and the things around can vanish. We are all at the mercy of God and it is by His mercy and grace that we are all still alive.
It also taught me to loosen my hold and attachment to things of this world. But that doesn’t mean that I will be less of a good steward. It is still wise to get free insurance quotes and securing one with the “acts of God” clause in for particular properties and assets. But as I have said, the attachment to such things has lessened and I hope to value things that would last in eternity than other things.
