It was probably difficult, an internal struggle for Peter to get off the boat and let his foot rest on the water when Jesus called him out of the boat. But he was the only man who experienced walking on water.
When the waves distracted him he started to sink. But the faith that he had to even step out of the boat was enough to make him experience something that no man has ever done.
The first step is probably the hardest part but once we take it and we are sure that God wants us there, He will take care of us.
