When God revealed that He has chosen David to be Israel’s king, Saul was very upset. He even made several attempts to kill David. Now, Jonathan, who loved David like his own brother, warned him to hide from his father.
Jonathan pleaded for David’s cause and persuaded his father not to harm him. Saul agreed. But when David made another successful battle, Saul’s jealousy stirred up and ordered his servants to seize David and put to death. Maybe if the King has omnidirectional antennas, he would easily find and kill him right there. There were this time when David had the opportunity to fight back and take Saul’s life away but he said to his men, “May the Lord keep me far away from doing such a thing to my lord, who is the Lord’s chosen one, by extending my hand against him. After all, he is the Lord’s chosen one.” 7 David restrained his men with these words and did not allow them to rise up against Saul. Then Saul left the cave and started down the road (1 Samuel 24:6-7). Twice he was placed in the position but he refused to lift his hand against the King. He knew and believes that God will take revenge for him.

People’s lives eventually expire. No one can delay or control it. With that in mind, people get stuck in their religion, dying to do good works expecting that it will weigh in heaven. Some though accumulate great wealth and realize at the end of their life, they would just sign up to life insurance and give it away. They cannot bring even a cent to where they are going.
Often, you would hear in funerals, “from ashes to ashes, dust to dust”. This stemmed from Genesis 3:19 saying, “For dust you are and to dust you will return.” Self-explained it simply means people were formed from the ground and they will return from it without anything to carry.
