Aging is something that is constant and sure among all of us. Even the best anti aging product can only do so much to one’s skin, looks and feeling. But, maintaining one’s proper diet, nutrition and staying fit can lengthen life and even influence and inspire others to eat and live healthily. A Van for Family and Ministry

Posted on February 17th, 2011 by Pastor Jeff in Daily Living

It may be time again to start getting car insurance quotes as we are looking into buying a van for our family which we could use for ministry as well. A bigger car is great for long drives and we could take relatives with us. It also is perfect for transporting some equipment and at the same time carry people when we have ministry outreaches. We hope that blessings will continue so this would materialize.

Posted on February 5th, 2011 by Pastor Jeff in Daily Living

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and many people will be excited about their loved one while others will just be excited about being in love. But what is love really? While many people will be looking at free online dating sites to find their true love it is important to first understand what true love is. The Bible talks about what true and real love is – that love is more than a feeling but is actually a choice and it is a matter of conduct.

Preparing for the Inevitable – Death

Posted on January 15th, 2011 by Pastor Jeff in Daily Living

Being prepared for death in this world is something that a lot of people do not often think about. Like preparing for funeral arrangements or for benefits of their loved ones who they may leave behind when death comes.

This is practical and wise. We should think ahead and not only think of ourselves but our family. It is saving for something that is inevitable.

Take Responsibility for Past Mistakes

Posted on January 2nd, 2011 by Pastor Jeff in Daily Living

Here is a follow up post to yesterday’s blog entry. The first step to making a fresh start this year is to take responsibility for what has happened to you in 2010. As you assess your situation, you may see many achievements and successes seen in your trophies and awards but you may also see some mistakes or wrong decisions you’ve made. Don’t let them bring you down. Admit that you play a big part in all that happened and stop blaming others. You need to take responsibility for 2010.

Passage of the Day: 01/01/2011

“Let the people renew their strength.”
Isaiah 41:1
All things on earth need to be renewed. No created thing continueth by itself. “Thou renewest the face of the year,” was the Psalmist’s utterance. Even the trees, which wear not themselves with care, nor shorten their lives with labour, must drink of the rain of heaven and suck from the hidden treasures of the soil. The cedars of Lebanon, which God has planted, only live because day by day they are full of sap fresh drawn from the earth.Neither can man’s life be sustained without renewal from God. As it is necessary to repair the waste of the body by the frequent meal, so we must repair the waste of the soul by feeding upon the Book of God, or by listening to the preached Word, or by the soul-fattening table of the ordinances. How depressed are our graces when means are neglected! What poor starvelings some saints are who live without the diligent use of the Word of God and secret prayer! If our piety can live without God it is not of divine creating; it is but a dream; for if God had begotten it, it would wait upon Him as the flowers wait upon the dew. Without constant restoration we are not ready for the perpetual assaults of hell, or the stern afflictions of heaven, or even for the strifes within. When the whirlwind shall be loosed, woe to the tree that hath not sucked up fresh sap, and grasped the rock with many intertwisted roots. When tempests arise, woe to the mariners that have not strengthened their mast, nor cast their anchor, nor sought the haven. If we suffer the good to grow weaker, the evil will surely gather strength and struggle desperately for the mastery over us; and so, mayhap, a painful desolation, and a lamentable disgrace may follow. Let us draw near to the footstool of divine mercy in humble entreaty, and we shall realize the fulfillment of the promise, “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.”
