Securing Homes With Less Effort

Posted on March 13th, 2011 by Pastor Jeff in Leadership

Security in the home is essential and is a responsibility of the man of the house. Usually, the father or the husband is busy with work and leaves the responsibility of securing their home to women or household help. The good thing about technology is that a home automation software for this issue is already very available. There are companies who provide free assessment and installation of a home security system when you purchase from them. So, now, men can fulfill their responsibilities with less effort through an automated home security system.

Leadership Thought for the Day: 06/05/09

Posted on June 5th, 2009 by Pastor Jeff in Leadership

The experience that David gained during his shepherding days led him to run rings around Goliath when they faced each other. It was his competence that God used to give him the victory in that battle. But David never depended on his skills when he faced the giant but showed humility and depended upon God alone. He did everything for God and gave credit to God when he won the battle.

As leaders, let us not depend on our own skills and capabilities. Let us not magnify our own efforts but let us always be dependent upon God by spending more time in prayer. Remember, the battle is the Lord’s!

Leadership Thought for the Day: 5/25/09

As leaders develop a trusting relationship with people at the one-on-one level they must be trustworthy. Then, they are ready for team development through empowerment. Effective leaders working at the team, or community, level realize that to be good stewards of the energy and efforts of those committed to work with them, they must honor the power of diversity and acknowledge that none is as smart as all of us.

Leadership Though for the Day: 5/19/09

Once leaders have life in proper perspective through self-examination, they are able to develop a trusting relationship with others. Without trust it will be impossible for any organization, church or ministry to function effectively. Trust between individuals is essential for two people to be able to work together. It is important to note, however, that the outcome of trust will never be achieved or maintained if this first area of development has not been addressed. If a leader has a self-serving perspective on life, people will never move toward him or her.

Daniel’s Commitment: A Leader’s Influence

Posted on May 16th, 2009 by Pastor Jeff in Leadership

Daniel, one of my favorite Bible characters, was a man who had committed.  He chose in advance what he would do in different situations and was consistent.  When asked to eat of food from King Nebuchadnezzar’s table which was served to the Babylonian’s idols, he refused and stayed committed.  Eventually, he influenced his peers and the authority above him.

When he was called upon the first time to interpret the king’s dream, he humbled himself and gave God the credit.  The second time, he didn’t back down on interpreting the king’s dream even if it meant that he migh lose his life because of his confrontation of the puffed up king. Because of this, he was able to influence the king.

When he and his peers were commanded to bow before another god, they refused and were willing to suffer even death to obey God.  This led to Daniel influencing the king and the whole nation.

Let us stay committed – choose in advance what you would in different situations, using God’s word as your guide and who knows how God can can use you to influence those around you for Him.
