When Peter called Satan a “roaring lion,” he was not kidding. Truth be told, this is the very purpose of Satan’s existence to destroy christians and to lead people away from the Truth. While we are told to focus on what’s good, we should also be aware that we are constantly under attack.

With Satan’s scheming acts, he will figure out what makes you tick and slowly try to “hang out” with you. Soon enough, you will find yourself not being able to fight free from what might as well be wire duct wrapped around you, making you feel trapped.

This is why devotion time is imperative if we want to soar and overcome challenges in life. The Bible will lead you to the right path, at all times.

Garbage in, garbage out. This is why it’s important not just allow everything to get in our minds and hearts. Putting filters in our lives can help prevent one from producing negative thoughts, feelings and behavior. Not all information that you read in books and novels are necessarily helpful to you. There are some that are wrong and must be filtered using the Truth, the Bible. Furthermore, you cannot allow yourself to watch just anything from cable, discount movies or online videos. You have to establish standards of right and wrong and from there, filter out what is garbage and what isn’t.

Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)

Christianity, for the most part is not easy. This is especially true for young people who are usually in the predicament of needing to belong. When we see for ourselves why the church seems to be making a little impact in the society, we all can see the obvious, Christians act like every other person around us. This is something we hope not to feel apathy about.

Even the clothes that we wear kinds of define us and what we believe in. Truth is, we can have all the fun in donning fashion clothing without being indecent or being a cause of another person to stumble. It is rather easy to conform when you have no benchmark of what are the do’s and dont’s.

Like if you have to at all wear shorts, make sure that it does not go above your stretched down arms. More importantly shop with the Holy Spirit.

‎”Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:1

Crying out to God in prayer is a very effective way of making yourself feel better when you are in distress and in a lot of emotional pain. It is very therapeutic because you can vent out your frustration and not allow it to be bottled up inside.

But more than being therapeutic, there is a supernatural element in it. God, who is like a rock that is high above all floods and storms of life, is the Rock who has ways that we do not comprehend or imagine. He has the power and ability to save us from our situation. But sometimes He allows the problems so He can complete His work in us. But even then, God is gracious enough to help you rise against that feeling of being overwhelmed by your impossible situation. And because of that you can have peace as you sleep, and even enjoy when you get your hammock stand at Hammocks.com, or simply have pleasant thoughts during your relaxing moments.

This group is what we call the advance team which does most of the dirty and hard preparations for one week of camp.

The group travels on huge vehicles such as trucks with curt hitches, closed vans and individually volunteered and sponsored vehicles to transport sound system equipment, materials used for stage set up and outdoor games, volunteers and their personal belongings. We ask for prayers as they travel and set up for the arrival of campers tomorrow after lunch and the camp opening.

It’s youth camp again and this time the theme for 2012 is Real Steel. The theme is not actually about robots competing but about Joseph of the book of Genesis and how strong, excellent and reliable he was during the period of tribulation in his life.

This year, we are expecting around 1,200 participants for the summer youth camp to be held at Mt. Peniel House of Prayer and Resort in Barangay O’ Donnel, Capas, Tarlac. Participants won’t need a lot of the top testosterone boosters in the market for this kind of activity because it is already filled with so much energy and hype. We are praying that God would move among the 1,200 campers and that that great number won’t be a distraction but more of a boost for young people as they spend the whole week together with God.

Many students have been preparing for this day – graduation! Last March, many walked up the stage and were officially announced as new graduates. For students, it is the end of what has been and the beginning of life ahead.

Parents, in excitement, started preparing graduation gifts for their kids, in advance, as appreciation to their hard work. Finally, all their labor and sacrifices produced something.

Just like those parents, God sacrificed a lot for His children. He sent his Son to die on the cross so that people can have a new start. When Jesus was about to be crucified, He asked God to take away the cup of suffering from Him. But He continued His prayer with “yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42). He knows that He is the only sacrifice suitable to save mankind. That dying on the cross will produce something beneficial – cleansing all people from their sins. The end generated a new beginning – a restored relationship with God.

In a worship service, a visitor asks her friend, “Why do you lift your hands up when you sing?”. Her friend smiled and gently replied, “I want my praises to reach the heavens. As high as I can lift my hands up, that is how thankful I am for giving me a life to worship Him.”
More than anything, God requires of your worship. He is most pleased when people come to him with thankful and humble hearts. Of all the things He has given-his Son, your needs and wants, your life, the air you breathe-it is appropriate to give Him back all the glory. He deserves all your praise.

So, the next time you are in a church worship, forget about the people around you. Simply close your eyes and let yourself feel God’s presence.

Everyday, Mandy and her 6-year old daughter, Camille, pass by an alley just across the school where Camille goes. And each day, they would always stop by that alley where Mandy gets a plastic of food in her bag and hands it over to an old lady living in a little house made of old boxes.

“Mommy, why are you giving the old lady the things we have at home?”, Camille asked. The mother replied, “Because I want to share God’s gift and blessing to other people, sweetie.”

After school, they passed by the alley again, as usual. As Mandy reaches for her bag, she saw Camille give her macmall coupons to the old lady. “Mommy, mommy! I gave her your coupon so she could buy anything she wants!” the little girl excitedly told her.

Proverbs 19:17 says, “He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given.” God loves a cheerful giver. He doesn’t promise that you’ll get rewarded instantly but when He returns, you will be rewarded for giving yourself to others in His Name.
